After a record-breaking debut in 2024, HYROX is expected to return to Toronto in 2025—and anticipation is already building. While official dates haven’t been released yet, here’s what we know (and what we expect) based on last year’s event and trends across the HYROX circuit.

2024 Recap

HYROX Toronto 2024 was Canada’s first-ever HYROX event and the largest HYROX race in North America to date. Held at the Enercare Centre, it drew nearly 7,000 athletes from across Canada and beyond.

If you missed it, here’s our full recap:

Our HYROX Toronto 2024 Event Report

What We Expect From HYROX 2025

Anticipated Venue

Although unconfirmed, the Enercare Centre is the most likely venue again for 2025. It handled the logistics of 7,000+ athletes smoothly last year and remains one of the few venues in Toronto large enough to host a full-scale HYROX layout.

  • Large indoor layout for 1km run loops + functional zones
  • Easy access via TTC and nearby hotels
  • Proven track record for large-scale fitness events

Expected Race Format

Unless HYROX announces global format changes, we expect the 2025 race to follow the same structure as previous years:

  1. 1 km Run
  2. 1000m Ski Erg
  3. 1 km Run
  4. 50m Sled Push
  5. 1 km Run
  6. 50m Sled Pull
  7. 1 km Run
  8. 80m Burpee Broad Jump
  9. 1 km Run
  10. 1000m Row
  11. 1 km Run
  12. 200m Kettlebell Farmers Carry
  13. 1 km Run
  14. 100m Sandbag Lunge
  15. 1 km Run
  16. 100 Wall Balls

We’ll update this section if any format changes are announced globally.

Registration Timeline

Based on last year’s pattern, registration will likely open shortly after the official announcement. In 2024, the event sold out fast—especially the early wave times.

Training Prep for 2025

With the announcement for HYROX Toronto 2025 expected any day now, this is the ideal time to start training. One thing we know for certain is that race times are improving across all divisions and genders. Whether you’re aiming to beat last year’s time or take on your first race, the best results come with consistency.

At Resilience, we run weekly HYROX sessions every Wednesday and Sunday at our East York and Durham locations.

What We Hope To See in 2025

As noted in our 2024 report, there were a few things we hope to see improved for the 2025 HYROX event including:

  • Better exit signage in each Zone. Last year, some athletes lost valuable time trying to figure out where to exit, often needing to ask judges for clarification.
  • Fewer technical difficulties, especially the carpeting in the Sled Push and Sled Pull zones.
  • Numbered wristbands rather than writing the race number on the athletes forearm.
  • Medals instead of patches. Some athletes from last years event were hoping for a more substantial token for completing the event.
